Hey all!

As you guys know, a Valentine's Day Chorus is happening, but due to the lack of time, we did not hold auditions for this. I apologize to those who may have wanted to participate, but there will be many more choruses in the future!

Anyways~ Those people have already been pm'ed and everything, but I thought I should go ahead and make a post to get everything in one place.

○ EDIT!!!! Due to random complications, THE DUE DATE IS PUSHED BACK. PROBABLY TO AROUND THE 25-26ish. The exact date will be announced as soon as all auditions are in, and I hope to get a (rough) coding to you guys so recording can be easier. read at the end~

Mmk, so i got the coding done... it's up to you if you only want to sing your coded lines, or to sing the whole song anyways. I do recommend, however, if you have only a few words, to sing the line in its entirety.

Anyways, I made different versions for each person and bolded the parts you sing. The full coding is still available on the left side (you'll see what I mean) but i just went ahead and bolded it because after a while... it gets kinda hard to find your letter ;w;

So yeah. Post your lines on here when you're done, and also include in your post your desired name (in case it is different than what I've been calling you) and yt channel :3

What about harmonies? I'm pretty sure they are just +6 on the sections with harmonies, if people want to do them. But I can't hit those notes Dx

I can probably sing the ones that are +6 if we end alternating between the two. (we had something similar for spica, so it should sound alright.)

Someone should sing some note within their range for the KYA and then we should pitch it up 3 octaves.

I'm pretty sure it's +6 (been banging it out on a piano) but maybe someone else with good pitch/tuner/piano can double check me?
I vote either no harmonies, or only harmonies where there are harmonies in the original. The song doesn't really need harmonies, it's only +6 so it's not like it's adding chordal structure or anything.

I in theory know enough music to know what you are talking about, but I don't have a piano handy to figure it out. I just sang harmonies by ear and tried to make sure they matched the original. I thought it should also be noted that some lines in the chorus actually have harmonies that are lower than the melody.

Also, potentially silly question but since I'm new here... how do we turn in lines?

Edit: Also I say people who think they can record harmonies might as well do so and then the mixer can decide whether or not to use them based on if everyone did the same thing. But I agree with lasagna that we should probably stick with the harmonies in the original song... I think the focus in the verses should be more on the lyrics than anything else (they're pretty funny... will there be subtitles in the vid?)

Now to go drown myself in vitamin c so hopefully I can record tomorrow >.<

ninkitsu, i think your harmonies sounded right enough~ we'll figure this all out after we know who's singing as who... (we are pairing people up in "couples", and one of the two would be singing the lower octave, blahblahblah... >.<)

i can try my best to work that out, though i'm not sure how good solos will sound in that section. i can definitely have you singing there though.

I think that would be cool as either a duet or (if there are solos in that part) a solo (the math line comes up twice). If it is too complicated though don't worry about it I would say.

yeah not a big deal, nor is the knee high socks line a big deal. We will send you lines and you do what is necessary to make it sound good. The quality of the final project should be first and foremost over what any one person wants.

The last note of the song is scale degree 5 (uhhh, D# I think it would be (or Eb, I guess it goes to Ab)). Just confirming that we should sing that note instead of scale degree 1? I mean I guess it's ok since it's not the END end of the song, there's more instrumental afterwards which does resolve in I but it really bugs me that the vocal lines don't resolve >.<
