Hi everyone! This is the organizational thread for the Secret After School chorus that I am organizing. This chorus is not officially a part of Sora no Chorus, but since all the singers are members of SnC, this seemed like the intuitive place to organize this.

The main task for now is, of course, character assignment. I'm going to try to take people's requests into account, but obviously there will have to be some people who have to be flexible (seeing as no one requested Miku, Rin, or Yuki and Cherri, Cloudy, and Sai have conflicting requests). If anyone wants to revise their requests, please let me know.

I'm going to ask each of you to sing some lines for the characters you requested (and some others that I think you might suit). You are welcome to do all the characters for fun if you so desire; just please do at least the ones I ask you to. Please do at least the first verse's solo lines for your assigned characters; doing all of their solo lines would be a plus. You may voice act their part or not, whatever you are most comfortable with. Please also sing at least one of the choruses (in whatever voice you choose).

Please post a link here when you are done; if possible, please post both an a capella version and a version with the instrumental. If this is not possible, a capella is preferred.

I'm setting the deadline at 11:59 pm Pacific Time on April 3rd. After that I will try to get character assignments sorted out and we can really get down to work. If this deadline does not work for you, or if you want to amend your character requests, please make a note below. Please do not stress overly much about this!

If anyone knows how to actually accurately line up video and sound, please let me know how. I plan to use the video above since I do not know how to video edit, but I've never actually used a video with my singing before... orz

Please also keep an eye on this thread for updates (I do not think there should be many before "casting" is determined, so do not worry too much for now). For major updates I will try to both post a reply to this thread and edit the opening post. You can be assured that the opening post will contain up to date info; I will post in bold at the top of the post the last time it was edited so you can see at a glance if anything has changed.

also, for the video stuff, it's pretty easy to just put the video + mp3 into windows movie maker and just do that, but I have a feeling that wwm messes with the sound quality, so it's best if you just send the mp3 to someone with vegas (rimi, sai or cloudy, i think) and get them to export for you >D

Quick update: I realized some of the lyrics weren't fitting quite right so I went back over the whole song with lyrics. It turns out there was a weird reading of the kanji at one point (subete rather than zenbu) and at a couple other points a kanji had been skipped over in transliteration. It's only a few minor changes but should hopefully make things go more smoothly. I've added these edited lyrics to the opening post, and I'm very sorry I didn't catch this earlier... I kind of just assumed I was failing at the song.

@ham: Yeah the choruses of the song have some pretty fast lyrics... hopefully the tweaks I made will make things fit better though (I could not for the life of me figure out how some of the stuff was supposed to sound like what they were saying before).

@Rimi: Do you think you will still be able to meet the deadline with your birthday? Please let me know if you think it's going to be an issue... I don't want to cause you trouble.

@Cloudy: If it wouldn't be too difficult for you I would hugely appreciate you doing the video. If it ends up being too much of a problem for you though (since I don't know when the final deadline for this will actually end up being) I can hopefully figure it out (it just may not be as good quality since I only have Windows Movie Maker to work with).

@Ninkitsu Ahaha, don't worry about it! Since we're using the original video, all I have to do is add the video and the chorus mp3 and then render it.
Rendering time should be under 5 minutes or so :3

Slow songs are easier to learn but harder to sing in my opinion cause like... sometimes you have to hold a note for a while and make it sound pretty the whole time -twitch-

Also, a quick question, what do you mean by voice-act their part? o: I don't remember hearing any talking in the song.

Also by voice acting I mean trying to sound like the person you are singing as. I will try to get my version up in the near future as an example as I would definitely be altering my voice to sound more like Yuki >.>

and chorus i sang was in no one's voice, meaning that it's my natural voice. most likely i will sing in something similar to that when we do the chorus, no matter which part i get =w=

I've gotten a message from Cloudy that she will also be needing extra time. My own mic or computer is acting up (I'm not sure which) so it is unlikely I'll meet my own deadline OTL

Those of you who are unable to meet the deadline, please do get your auditions in as soon as you are able. I would like to have parts assigned by the end of next weekend if at all possible. If I do not receive an audition from you by that time, I will assign you a part regardless, but I do feel that to have the best chorus possible it would help to have an idea of what you will sound like as a character in advance.

Also everyone should feel free to either post here or send me private messages regarding what characters they think their own audition and other people's auditions best suit. I very much value any input any of you would have... this is going to be tough. For this reason as well it is best to get things done as soon as possible so we can all get a chance to try to decide what is best together.
